Head to Bird World to see an abundance of free-flying birds, including Bowerbirds, Parrots, Cockatoos and the endangered Cassowary. Visit the Kuranda Koala Gardens to meet kangaroos, koalas, quokkas and more! Return to Cairns on an air-conditioned electric coach.

Kuranda Scenic Rail:

Experience the historic Kuranda Scenic Rail journey through ancient tropical rainforest of the Barron Gorge National Park. The journey rises from sea level to 328m as you traverse the rainforest mountain, passing waterfalls, and travelling across bridges and through tunnels on this railway constructed by hand between 1886 to 1891. A short stop at Barron Falls Lookout along the way allows to you disembark and take in the spectacular views of Barron Falls and the valley.

Your pre-allocated tickets are on your Kuranda Boarding Pass issued by our driver at the beginning of your day will allow you to board and take your seat at the designated time without queuing.

Kuranda Village:

Upon arrival in Kuranda, it’s time to explore this fascinating village. The Heritage Markets operate 7 days a week and are full of colourful and interesting arts and crafts. You might also like to visit Birdworld, the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary or Kuranda Koala Gardens [at own expense]. Your Kuranda Boarding Pass also offers discounted entry into selected Kuranda attractions, as well a map to find your way around.

Start your day with a trip on the Kuranda Scenic Railway, a relaxing journey winding up the mountain from Cairns to the village of Kuranda. The historic railroad rises from sea level to 328m and passes through ancient rainforest. Look out for waterfalls and the breathtaking Barron Gorge.

Upon arrival in Kuranda, enjoy a guided tour across land and water on the historic World War II amphibious Army Ducks at the award-winning Rainforestation Nature Park. Your experienced Army Duck Captains will help you identify and learn about the native animals and wildlife surrounding you, including snakes, fish, turtles and a range of birdlife. Your guide will also point out and explain the unique ferns, orchids, strangler figs and stinging trees that form the rainforest as you pass by.

Finish your day with a peaceful return to Cairns on the scenic Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, travelling in comfortable 6-person gondolas just metres above the rainforest canopy. The cableway spans 7.5km with two stops offering the opportunity to explore the rainforest at ground level, before arriving in Cairns.
